Installation is easy inside Euro Truck Simulator 2. Place the acquired DLL inside bin/win_x86/plugins/ of your ETS2 installation. Not sure what is going on, but my C key is mapped to Cruise Control. Everytime I press C it states "Retarder is Activated" Use . key to deactivate. I press the . key, but then the same thing happens everytime I press the C key to turn on cruise control? I checked my key mapping and the C key is mapped to Cruise Control. What is going on?? AFAIK, trailer braking is not important in the game because I find it useful when doing oversize loads, feels more stable to slow down just a bit (speed limit changes or slower traffic) using trailer brakes. It's really only good if you're simulating air pressure, because the retarder lets you slow down without using the brakes and wasting air. For a full stop, use the air brakes. For going down a good grade or slowing down, use the retarder. I only use the retarder and engine brake.

In real life, as most of you know, the retarder can be activated in full power by just pushing the lever all the way down by one basic move. But in the game we have to press, let's say, 4 times seperately to get the full power.
